The body found laying on the Kenilworth station platform of Metra’s Union Pacific North line Friday evening was hit by a train, Kenilworth Police said. Trains in both directions were stopped when the body of an unidentified female was found about 7 p.m, according to Metra spokesman Tom Miller and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. At about 11:30 p.m., Kenilworth Police said in a statement that the body “had apparently been struck by a train.” Kenilworth police continue to investigate the incident.
